AGARTALA, Jan 17 (TIWN): The recent controversy regarding Citizenship Bill-2016, which gives an opportunity for Hindu sufferers outside India to become Indian Citizens, have become a matter of discourse in CPI-M and Regional party offices of Tripura. Protesting against the Citizenship Bill-2016 Tripura’s all Tribal regional parties have called for a strike on February 8th and following that strike CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar via a press meet although opposed the strike, but clearly mentioned that this bill is only Hindu supportive, which is unethical. However, BJP State President Biplab Deb said that there are many laws in India which have been reserved for other religions too, so why controversies are erupted with Hindu-supportive talks only? In this regard State Observer Sunil Deodhar said, “Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy was also brought under serious allegation by Communists after he said he is ‘Hindu’. But what’s so wrong in using one’s religion right? India is a secular country and all have rights in freedom of expression”. It’s worthy to mention here that in joint move INPT, IPFT, NCT members led by IPFT leader N C Debbarma told media that the Citizenship-Bill-2016 amendment will hamper the tribals across the Country.

Protesting that all the regional parties has called for a strike on Feb 8th and promised to make the strike successful together.

Particularly protesting against Modi govt’s call for Hindu citizenship who came before 2014’s 31stDecember, the tribal leaders said, ‘If new people stay in India, they should not come in Tripura. Tripura has much population and they should be send in places like Andaman where population is less’.

CPI-M state secretary said, “The bill is contradictory in the sense as it is only for Hindu’s welcoming in India. Modi govt’s call for Hindu citizenship who came before 2014’s 31st December was protested by CPI-M and we told all the religion’s people should include in that bill. Apart from that CPI-M has no problem with the bill”.

However, replying media question Biplab Deb said that communists always issue on the basis of religion, whereas they are the original  the root of all terrorism thoughts.
