NorthEast’s infrastructure development accelerates under PM’s ‘Act East’ policy : First ever 44.762 KM Udaipur-Agartala Railway service to kick off on Jan 20 : NFR launching regular passenger service for 6 days in a week

AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Jan 12 (TIWN): In a historical bold move, Suresh Prabhu led Railway Ministry speeding up Railway Network’s spread all over NorthEast. Long awaited Udaipur-Agartala passenger railway service to begin its maiden journey on Jan 20th as a part of trial run, NFR informed on Wednesday. Reportedly, the CRS inspection has been completed successfully in that mentioned route, whereas the 44.762 KM section from Agartala to Udaipur will witness the movement of passenger traffic between these two stations with the introduction of two pairs of trial special trains with the effect from 20th January, 2017. While the run will commence with train no. 05683 at 12 PM from Agartala. At present the train will run 6 days in a week (Except Sunday) and the later decisions will be taken based on traffic volumes.In this regard the NFR Officials led by AGM Ratan Lal, ADRM Nayan Maligao are residing in Tripura and they will inspect various railway status of the state too.

The regular service will be s follow : 1) 05683 DN trail special train will leave from Udaipur at 7.30 PM and will reach Agartala at 8.45 PM 20th Januray,  2) 05684 DN trail special train will leave from Agartala at 5.45 PM and will reach Udaipur at 6.55 PM on 21st January, 3) 05681 DN trail special train will leave from Udaipur at 8.10 AM and will reach at Agartala at 9.21 AM ON 21ST January, 4) 05682 UP trail special train will leave from Agartala at 6.30 AM and will reach at Udaipur at 7.40 AM on Januray 21st.

Although, the officials reportedly expressed dissatisfaction after inspecting the tracks, buildings at Agartala Railway Station, but chances are high for a successful maiden journey from Udaipur to Agartala.

Indian Railways connectivity in India’s north eastern region will get boost with the launch of the first ever broad gauge goods trains to the landlocked state. The latest trend of work at Matabari railway station shows that days are not so far when people of Tripura can travel long distances in BG trains and get connected to rest of the part of the country.

In order to make the Matabari railway Station as perfect station, different works including extension of platforms, creation of new platforms and installation of new BG rail tracks had started  a year back. The people are now eagerly waiting for the train service’s inauguration.
