AGARTALA, Dec 3 (TIWN): Massive corruption unearthed under SC Welfare Dept. in Tripura when BJP National SC Morcha Secretary Shruti Bangaru Laxmi after arriving in state held a press meet at Party Office on Saturday. Bangaru Laxmi claimed that all the data revealed by Tripura Govt in last Assembly are bogus. “Whereas the CPI-M Govt cries a lot fund-slashing for Tripura SC Welfare, in actual in last year atleast 14.2 % non-utilized fund under the mentioned dept was unearthed. The central Govt asked the Tripura govt for sending the detail reports of the expenditure but the govt here failed to do so, saying that it has utilize the fund in other social welfare”, said Laxmi. She further said, “For what purpose the fund was used it’s also not clear, whether it went to political campaigning or something else, the state govt didn’t tell anything to the Centre; and unless and until the Central govt receives any proper explanation it will not allocate the fund”, added Laxmi.

The BJP leader further claimed, “Tripura Govt. in Assembly 2016 said that there are 6 lakhs 54 thousand SCs in Tripura which stands around 17. 8 %, whereas the actual status is around 20 %”.  

“The Communist Govt here is using all the SC / ST/ Backward community and poor people as their vote banks but the govt left them without any benefit and this is the chief reason behind the undeveloped condition of Tripura”, she added.

“Central Govt’s fund allocation is very transparent, which is same for all states,then why the Central Govt will deprive Tripura only?" she added.

The BJP leader arrived in Tripura on Friday and held 2 rallies.In that press meet she said, “I was sent to note down the developmental status of the state but I’m uttered shocked to see the condition. So much of corruption, so much mismatched have surprised me”.

“Non-utilized fund is in every dept. which has led the Central govt to slash the fund for state Tripura”, she added.

She also discussed about Tripura's poor GDP rate, black money under various other party leaders, Demonetization issue etc.
