AGARTALA, Sep 27 (TIWN): Agartala witnessed another episode of malfunctioning State Govt’s 'Diaster Management Peparedness' on Tuesday, when two young boys died during a maintenance work at Indranagar due to lack of rescue teams in the whole City. During a maintenance work inside a culvert tank, a boy went inside to the tank but due to excessive gas inside the whole he started to scream for help. Fire brigade was informed but as fire brigade team was late, his co-worker jumped into the tank to save his friend, but he also fall on the same trap. But when Fire Brigade came, the 2nd boy was still alive, said the eye-witnesses. Fire brigade came late, then observing the condition they declined to work on it and said, “This is not our work”. However, the public said that the Fire Brigade men had no oxygen mask, no oxygen gas with them and that’s why they escaped from the spot to avoid peoples fury. The name of the deceased are Subham Nama (18) & Mangal Das (26). Question raised about the yearlong mock-drill drama in the name of Disaster management when two young people died haplessly in Agartala.

“For what use the Fire Brigade, NDRF/ Disaster management mock-drills if people have to die helplessly”  said the public. “The Fire brigade came late, but seeing the condition they strictly declined to help them and said, it’s not our work”, said another public.

Now question arises, if it’s not Fire Brigade’s work what is their work actually whose work is this? Who will resque and save a person in emergency situation in Tripura.

People present there are directly hitting the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Fire Minister Manindra Reang said that what infrastructure the Govt of Tripura has for emergency situation?

Gathered people strongly criticizing Manik Sarkar’s infrastructure-less developing state, Mock-Drill DRAMA  in the name of disastrous management training. Yearwide training is given about disaster management, but capital city’s Fire brigade  lacks no oxygen mask with them.

Lack of instant response thus have killed two lives in the Capital City. MLA Sudip Roy Barman, BJP State President Biplab Deb visited the spot after the incident, but any Ministers or CPI-M MLAs yet to visit the lapses.

At round 1 PM the bodies were recovered by NDRF, whereas the incident ocurred at 10 AM.
