AGARTALA, Sep 27 (TIWN): By 2017, Tripura’s Indo-Bangla unfenced borders will have to be fenced with proper fencing including Sonamura border, BJP State President Biplab Deb told TIWN. Sonamura Indo-Bangla border areas are fully controlled by few rogue smuggling organizations, creating much hurdles in border fencing work. The massive cannabis production in Sonamura, Boxnagar areas protected by mafia groups at there. A very reliable Govt. source recently said that such organizations will never allow the border fencing work at there, as it will kill their free space at Indo-Bangla border. With various issues created by the locals in the name of Zero-point fencing, the border fencing work is not getting momentum at Sonamura. However, Govt. of India has recently taken a very pragmatic decision that the fencing work must be completed in its way but Govt. may help them by lands. But that decision is also not fully implementing due to political interference led by mafia groups.

Such organizations are not only controlling the business----but they control Govt administration & even the border fencing works there.

Such organizations are nothing but jointly made by India-Bangladesh smugglers, terrorists, controlling the all economy there. Although phensedyl, ganja all are banned from India, but under CPI-M era the business is rampant at Tripura’s western border.

Sonamura was earlier in West Tripura. But the Muslim based subdivisions including Melaghar, Sonamura have been joined by bringing it under a new Dist. named Sepahijala --- which had smoothened the way for further narcotic business there.

Manik Sarkar who raised many sensitive topics & asked the home ministry to take steps including Mizo repartition did not raised the raise the issue of border fencing yet now. Rather his one of the Cabinet Ministers Badal Choudhury is now demanding for re-demarcation of Muhuri Char delayed the fencing work at South Tripura.

Tripura’s But BJP Chief Biplab Deb said that already Rajnath Singh told him he is very serious about Tripura’s fencing work and it will be completed within 2017.

In June 24 Susheel Kumar, the Secretary- Border Management (MHA) arrived in Tripura to inspect the border status of here and held a meeting with Tripura Govt. officials in the presence of Chief Secretary Y P Sing, DGP K Nagraj, RD Dept. Principal Secretary GSG Ayyanagar.

But before his departure, he expressed extreme displease about the fencing status of Indo-Bangla border in Tripura.

BGB  Regional Director Brigadier General Mohammad Habibul Karim on July 21 during his visit in Tripura said, “If you don’t do border-fencing alone, we will do jointly but after the partisan the security will be more strong”.

However, with increasing Pakistan, China threat to India, border fencing for the states have become mandatory. But due to the huge ideological clash led by CM Manik Sarkar is increasing dangers for Tripura.
