AGARTALA, July 27 (TIWN): Due to the pathetic condition of National Highway at Loairpoa-Churaibari way, the vehicle movement is almost paused there. Tripura Govt. however is silent apart from blaming the Assam Govt. and amidst high risks the drivers are to moving over the muddy roadway.

Moreover, elephants are brought to push the vehicles.

But after many news and photo publication of NH-8 (44), thousands of responses are coming and people are condemning over the continuous tortures upon animals at NH- 8 (44).

Readers are saying, such activities are nothing but harassing animals and fully violation of animal rights.

Voice has raised to stop pushing vehicle by animals and public also advised the Govt. to use bulldozers to push the vehicle there. Emails are also coming to the Editor to write against such unhappy incidents and torture upon Elephants.

However, the readers’ demands also can not be ignore, as when TIWN photographer visited the National Highway, he asked the driver to take more pictures with Elephant-pushing, but he denied and said that along with him, the animal is also very much tired after whole day’s torture ! Such condemnations by public  is really a shameful matter for the govt.

However, such situation occurred after yearlong corruptions held by Tripura-Assam PWDs, which turned national highway into pitiable condition.

However, Tripura PWD Minister Badal Choudhury on July 1st, had already cleaned his image by saying that it’s only the central govt.’s deprivation for Northeast, and Assam Govt.’s lethargy to renovate NH-44.

Bijan Dhar , CPI-M party chief cadre also at Party office said that the Tripura Govt. is spending lakhs and lakhs to repair  the roadways inside Tripura. He also blamed Central Govt. and Assam Govt. both the NH-44 in pathetic condition. Dhar was trying to hide state wide Tripura’s roadway due to PWD’s huge corruption.

In the mean time BJP president with a press release said that during Congress rule in Assam, Tripura CPI-M had jointly involved behind the deplorable road-condition of Tripura-Assam road. As communists never welcomed development, so they indulged the local contractors in that scam.

At NH-8 (88) Elephants are brought to push the vehicles, which has created much controversy among the common people.
