AGARTALA, July 26 (TIWN): What can be more ironical than being deprived of petrol and other essential commodities in Tripura for past at least 2 months. Petrol crisis, food crisis and crisis of all other essential commodities have taken a bad shape in the state following the poor condition of National highway. Today at least 2 months have passed Tripura is suffering from acute petrol crisis and despite of that Food, Civil supplies and Consumers Affairs Minister Bhanau Lal Saha could not manage time to look into the matter. Once again on Tuesday, the consumers had blocked the streets at Radhanagar, Ganaraj Chowmuhani and other main junctions of Agartala in demand of petrol. All most all the petrol pumps are running dry in the state. The sole reason behind such crisis of petrol in the state is due to the dilapidated condition of national Highway which has turned to mud filled engraved due to lack of maintenance.

Tripura reeling under acute crisis of petrol, diesel since 2 months but helicopter-totting Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has no time to think for the well being of the common people.

Hapless people once again had blocked the road in demand of petrol in front of Radhanagar, Ganaraj Chowmuhani. As regular vehicle movement is yet to begin smoothly on the crippled NH 8-44, state is facing acute crisis of petrol in the state.

Due to failure of intervention from the state government the consumers has hit the road due to lack of supply of petrol. Agitated consumerson Tuesday staged road blockade and said it is insane situation that there is no petrol supply in the state.

Almost all the petrol pumps of Agartala city along with the petrol pumps at the sub-divisions were found hanging ‘No Petrol’ board. Long queue was witnessed in front of the petrol pumps in the several petrol pumps of the state.

Long queue of people were found waiting with their motorcycles in front of the petrol pump in the vicinity of Agartala. Meanwhile, petrol crisis has hit the state capital and sub divisional headquarters. Motor cycle users of the city have been facing an unprecedented crisis following the unavailability of fuel in most of the petrol pumps, catering to the requirement of motorists of the city and its surrounding areas.

Taking the advantage the opportunist are fully utilizing the scarcity by selling the petrol by black marketing. The petrol dealers of the State were emerging in a new trend to earn more money through black marketing which causes artificial petrol crisis in the State.

NH8-44 which is known as lifeline of landlocked Tripura has been extensively damaged due to State PWD’s negligence, resulting petrol/ diesel crisis inside the state.
