AGARTALA, Feb 11 (TIWN): Poor internet connectivity has led to fuel crisis in Tripura for the past consecutive days, forcing the state to suffer under severe petrol crisis.Hundreds of oil tankers from Guwahati have been stranded in IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited) depot in Dharmanagar, the entry point to Tripura by road from Assam," an official source said. As the Internet connectivity is down, the IOCL officials are unable to get clearances online from their authorities in Guwahati and similarly poor internet connection is leading to continuous petrol crisis. In absence of clearances from the IOCL authorities, the hundreds of oil tankers, carrying petrol and diesel, are unable to move to different parts of Tripura including capital city Agartala, 200 km from Dharmanagar. The actual reason for the dry-out remains largely speculative and the petrol pump owner is not ready to speak anything regarding the crisis in the city.It is to be mentioned here that most of the petrol pump of the city area running dry and a long queue of people is seen from the early morning waiting in the petrol pump to collect petrol. Hundreds of vehicles were seen in queue in front of petrol filling station while many centres had hanged the board of no-petrol.

Majority of the petrol pumps in the state capital hanged the board of no-petrol due to lack of fresh petrol supply, forcing the desperate consumers to buy petrol from black market at a hefty price.
The acute petrol crisis created chaos among the state people. Following the petrol crisis in Tripura, movement of vehicles has been collapsed partially. Especially the vehicles move to out of the state is facing difficulties at such situation.
Reportedly, it’s been almost week that peoples of the city are facing a huge crisis of petrol with most of the pumps shut down while huge queue noticed outside the petrol pump which is operational in the city. Due to this people were seen waiting for refilling their vehicle tanks.

While most of the pumps supplied fuel in short, other few ones were open for the whole day facing huge crowd of vehicles.
It is to be mentioned here that the crisis of petrol has occurred due to prolonged dilapidated condition of the National Highway 44 and the Lorries were stuck.
It seems like to get petrol from any of the petrol pump has become a challenge and a matter of patience as the riders had to wait for prologue many hours.
