AGARTALA, Dec 30 (TIWN): The newly elected AMC authorities on Wednesday held a meeting to discuss on the revised budget 2015-2016 at City centre.

The meeting have allocated portfolios among members of the Mayor-in-Council for smooth functioning of the different wings of the corporation administration.

 Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Wednesday held a meeting under the initiative of the AMC Mayor Prafullajit Sinha to discuss the progress of the work in the municipality areas for the betterment of the people.

A joint meeting with all the councillors and senior officials of AMC to discuss status of various developmental works across the city was held at City centre.   The meeting highlighted the status of the development work and the problems faced in completing them. The meeting was also aimed at a direct interaction between the Mayor, Councillors, officials for better coordination and speedy completion of projects.

The full fledged budget for the year 2015-16 was placed on 10th March 2015 in which an estimated income of Rs. 34,744.00 lakhs was reported against which an estimated expenditure of Rs 34,800.00 lakhs was shown. 

However, keeping the financial scenario in view, the revised budget of Rs.34, 872.00 lakhs against which it is expected to incur expenditure for an amount of Rs.34.918.00 lakhs in the coming month till March 31st.       

However, AMC Mayor Prafullajit Sinha further said that AMC has always remain 100 percent successful in completing the developmental work in the municipal areas and they will look forward to speedy completion of the work in the AMC areas for the betterment of the people.

Addressing the meeting Mayor Dr Prafullajit Sinha called upon the newly elected members to concentrate on civic works to fulfil demands and requirements of the people.

However, DM west Millind Ramteke along with other dignitaries also remained present in the program.
