AGARTALA, Nov 30 (TIWN): Although in all other North Eastern states Govt. employees are getting Central pay-scale but in Tripura the govt. employees getting almost 40 to 60 percent less salary than the central govt. employees. Tripura CM Manik Sarkar so far avoided 6th pay Commission nor the 7th pay commissions recommendations. With that the central govt. is to follow the 7th pay commission, but Tripura govt. has no concern to maintain the balance between state-central budget.

Talking to TIWN correspondent, JMCT(Joint Movement Committee of Teachers) Ranajit De said, “Presently state govt. has found another way to delay the matter in the name of pay-commission, whether without pay-commission also govt. could make its employees happy by increasing the DA.

According to the expected calculator on 7th pay commission:
1. Uniform 2.86 Multiplication Factor
2. HRA remain unchanged
3. Reintroduction of CCA (performance base)

But in Manik Sarkar’s era, Tripura Govt. employees are deprived of everything. Neither the state govt. is ready to increase the DA, nor it will set up the 7th pay commission.

Because, if the 7th pay-commission once initiated, then the state govt. has to give the equal salary with central. According to the 7th pay commission no DA will be given, but the 2.86 multiple of the basic salary the employees will get. However, here the state govt. keeps the business to keep the employees happy with gradually increaing the DA.

Once in the running year CM promised to give salary in central scale also when time comes govt. employees was made happy with only 5 % DA.

So, Manik Govt. has decided not to set any more pay-commission here.

Example are many: the person who is getting 20,000/- as per basic it will stand as almost 60,000/-. In West Bengal too the Govt. has shown enough interest to bring the profit for its people. But in Tripura neither the 6th pay Commission nor the 7th pay commissions benefits are getting by the state govt.

As a result for no pay-hike for Tripura, as a result govt. employees’ resentment are consisting state-wide.

Talking to Rananjit De, he said that Tripura Chief Minister on 31st March, 2015 fooled the public by promising them to bring the sate-central salary in the same level. Then after the announcement by CM, the state govt. employees were in prolonged waiting to receive the salary as per the central pay scale from this running year, but at the end the employees got nothing.

But all the hopes have been vanished with the announcement of 5 percent DA to the employees and the gap between the state and centre salaries remains still as 39 %. However, after 7th pay commission the gap will be at 60 %.

Them CM was asked to take step within September, but govt. has no concerned about it moreover has turned blind and deaf eyes to the new pay commissions in the country.

As a result economical condition has been broken down here in the state Tripura and it may increase more in the coming days.
