Bank robbery spree in Agartala: high-tech robber’s loot Gramin bank head office, 4 arrested

AGARTALA, Oct 5 (TIWN): East agartala police on Monday produced 4 accused robbers before the court in allegation of looting Tripura Gramin bank head office at Agartala on Oct 1. The accused are identified as Krishna Sil (16) son of Lt. Chittaranjan Sil resident of Netaji chowmuhani, Biswajit Namo (16) and Sudhir Namo (12), son of Dhananjoy Namo resident of Radhanagar, karthik Debnath (14) son of Sanjiv Debnath resident of Radhanagar.Police arrested the accused from Radhanagar area on Sunday late night.Talking to East police personnel on Monday, he said that while patrolling on the streets on Sunday late night they nabbed the four accused with lots of goods of Tripura Gramin Bank from Radhanagar at around 2 in the night.28 web cameras, micro ATM machines, computer monitors along with other stolen goods were recovered from the thieves.It is to be mentioned here that yet in another daring heist of robbery, the head office of Tripura Gramin bank at Abhoynagar was massively looted by a gang of robbers on the night of October 1.A police official of east police station said that the bank robbery took place under the cover of darkness. Taking advantage of the darkness, the robbers executed their plan and broke the lock of the bank door. The official further said that the bank robbery was a well thought out plan as the robbers came equipped with all the tools required to carry out the robbery.

Reportedly, the incident took place on October 1 night when the gang of robbers executed their plan and thronged into the premises of the Tripura Gramin Bank head office.

Police further said that the robbers mainly attempted to loot the cash from the bank. Apart they have broken some glass panes and window panes inside the bank and have created a mess with the bank documents.

However, police is further investigating the case.

It is worthy to be mentioned here that bank loot and ATM loot has rise high in the state. Recently hi-tech robbers looted one ATM machine of State Bank of India (SBI) from Agartala Arundhutinagar Beltoli area on August 18 night under A.D.Nagar police station. However, 8 has been detained in connection to the incident, police said. According to the police, the robbers came in van bearing number AS6928 and thronged into the ATM counter.
