AGARTALA, July 3 (TIWN): Though for the first time, but a demand for Human Rights Commission to secure the democracy and various human rights the Governor of Tripura Tathagata Roy has been requested to ask the Govt. of Tripura to initiate measures to set up a State Human Rights Commission here in the state. Attaching this particular demand, a deputation was given by Nirbhoy, (an organization or forum to protection of Democracy and Human Rights in Tripura) on Thursday.
Accusing the state Govt. directly, for running a violent society Ajoy Biswas, Ex-MP said “Violence has become a part of life during the reign of the present government.”
Terrorism, Violent Political rivalry, crime against and women police excesses are recorded as one of the highest in the country, added in the deputation.
Claiming that the state government has a partisan and political role to mitigate the problems especially when the conflicts arise between the supporters of the ruling and opposition political parties, they said that common people are in fear psychosis as they have no place to get proper justice.
Moreover, after being repeatedly requested by the chairman of the National Human Rights Commission to form ‘Tripura Human Rights Commission’ CM has no interest to think in this purpose. Govt. is happy with the present condition of the state by closing its eyes.
In this regard, Nirbhoy organization went to the Governor of Tripura to place their demands for the human rights commission to be availed in to the state as soon as possible, which can protect the rights and dignity of common people.
