AGARTALA, June 30 (TIWN): All India People’s Forum, a joint platform of different human rights organization on Tuesday organized a mass demonstration at Orient Choumuhani.

The mass demonstration was mainly organized to register the Forum’s protest against the amendment of Land Bill 2013, said Advocate Purushottam Rai Barman.

According to the 2013 Act, land can be acquired by any private company. But according the recent ordinance, land can be acquired by any private entity.

The protest also includes the disappointment against the proposed amendment of labour laws and to denounce the rise of the communal forces throughout the country and to defend secularism.

Advocate Purushottam Rai Barman further stated that the forum has been concern about the assault of the new liberal economy against the people right to life and livelihood.

All India People’s Forum (AIPF) has been launched to strengthen the Indian people’s battle for comprehensive democracy, dignity, and justice, a range of Democratic organisations and individuals have decided to come together and launch a national platform.
