AGARTALA, April 27 (TIWN): Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Working President Ashish Saha on Sunday blamed the police and the state govt. and its administration over the conditional bail of scamster BDO Bimal Chakroborty. Saha said, “Police acting on behest of the State Govt. (CM Manik Sarkar) and rural development department intentionally backtracked from framing the charge sheet against Bimal within 6 months”. Saha was interacting with journalists at Agartala Congress Bhawan during the Sunday press conference. Saha alleged that the state administration and the state govt. have intentionally acted for Bimal and pressured the police investigating agency to hush up the case by not submitting detailed charge-sheet within 180 days.He said, “In the eye of law Bimal was shown arrested but later acting deliberatly the state govt. and its RD department has come up to save Bimal, a close aide of CM Manik Sarkar.”Saha also said that as part of CPI-M drama, recently the state govt. had appealed to the High Court to reject the conditional bail plea of Bimal Chakraborty. Adding to that Saha claimed, “It is nothing but another strategy of Manik Sarkar to eye wash the people of the state as the ADC election drawing near.”

“Otherwise the state govt. had fully tricked to save its clean image again with no charge sheet against its close aide Bimal Chakroborty.”

He also indicated, “Conviction rate here in Tripura is deliberately decreasing because of the State Govt. and its dirty policy for which the police personnel across the state failed to act independently.”

However it is worthy to mention here that, recently the court has granted the conditional bail plea of scamster Bimal Chakroborty who was under trial for several months for his direct role in Rs 51 crore MGNREGA scam, because police was found failed to frame the charge sheet within 180 days as was directed by the court.
