Rural Development minister urged Rega Karmachari Samiti to look after the seven point charter demands

Agartala, March 12 (TIWN): Rural Development Minister, Naresh Jamatia assured the delegates of the Rega Karmachari Samiti to overview consideration on the basis of their demands. However, Minister urged them to withdraw their strike for the greater benefit of the State.

On the call of the Minister, the delegates had attended the meeting and discussed the vital points of their demand. Minister had given his consent to look after the matter after discussion with the rural development department and the finance department. It is to be mentioned that the demands of the committee is to increase the wage percentage of the contractual worker from 3 percent to 5percent, to sanction leave for 20 days with full salary and to keep a service record like other schemes. It is to be mention that, Hundreds of workers under the banner of Tripura REGA Karmachari Samanoy Samity cease-work for an indefinite period from today on seven points charter of demands. The demands include regularization of service of REGA workers, put an end to the termination of REGA workers, providing medical allowance/ TA/DA/ Special, Accidental benefits, creation of new posts to implement the flagship programme and revision of salary of REGA workers.

Earlier, on November last year also The Tripura REGA Karmachari Sammanay Samiti (TRKSS) organized 120 hours long sit-in-demonstration near Swami Vivekananda Stadium.
