Passing-out parade: Chief Minister Manik Sarkar urges women police constables to work within bounds of law

AGARTALA, March 2 (TIWN): With the completion 10-month long of different indoor and outdoor trainings, passing out parade of women constables (12th batch) of Tripura police was concluded at KTD Singh Police Training Academy ground here on Monday.Chief Minister Manik Sarkar inspected the passing out parade in presence of DGP K Nagraj, IGP Anurag Dhankar, MLA Haricharan Sarkar and many other senior police officials.Chief Minister Manik Sarkar congratulated the newly-recruited women police constables and welcomed them to "one of the nation's most prestigious police forces."Speaking in the passing out ceremony, the chief minister said, “It is your duty to work within the bounds of law, to ensure that justice is done, and that all those who come in the way of justice are duly punished with honesty and sincerity."

Once upon a time when the total number of woman constable in Tripura police department was very low but now interest of women to join police is being increased rapidly.

He further called upon them for not to forget what they have learnt in the Academy during training period and to execute their duties as a policewoman in such a manner to protect the interest of general public.

As many as 294 women constables have completed the training successfully and they were administered pledge during the passing out ceremony. The training procedure including martial arts, swimming, vehicle driving and computer training was started from May 02, last year.

During the training period, Rupa Chakraborty secured best position for all round training while the best position in outdoor training was bagged by Sukrita Sarkar.

Mouchaity Debnath, Shibani Debbarma and Bimala Khatun secured best positions in good conduct, firing and endurance respectively while Jayashree Sinha was the parade commander.

In the passing out ceremony, the chief minister handed over awards to them for their best efforts in different aspects during the training.
