BELONIA, January 29 (TIWN): Calling for an united protest against the BJP led NDA govt.’s policy at the center, Tripura chief minister and CPM politburo member Manik Sarkar today keeping the left front’s all time hit trend to poke the central govt said that Modi’s much hyped “Acche din” slogan has losts its color while the seven months experience at the center has brought no change to the policy of the previous UPA govt. Therefore the Congress and BJP are the two sides of the same coin, said CM during the party rally at Belonia BKI School ground today.Addressing the party rally at Belonia BKI ground yesterday CM Manik Sarkar said that the seven months experience at the center has brought a story of a foreign trip depriving the common mass of the country in regard of the fulfillment of their basic needs. “The govt. at the center has paid much importance in foreign trips since after the sit in power and has deprived the poor people of the nation at large”, said CM. However CM carefully avoided mentioning rising scams under his nose in every Govt Dept by his close aides like scamster BDO Bimal Chakraborty, failing healthcare & hospitals, unemloyments , top spot in country among all states in increasing crime against women.

Adding to that Sarkar said that ignoring the basic needs of the common people of the nation BJP govt. at the center has always been notified working for the rich people and has made out his mind to open the gateway to the foreign investment.

Alleging that the BJP govt. at the center has brought no change to the policy of the previous UPA govt. Sarkar said that the trend of price hike of the essential commodities has come under no control even after seven months since after the Modi govt. has sit in power at the center.

Later hitting hard on the BJP government’s policy, Sarkar alleged about 3 lakh farmers committed suicide during the UPA time while 500 farmers took the same path during the past seven months of the BJP government.

However, he added that the UPA government did not curtail the allocation of funds to the states and his government could continue with its development policies and create jobs for youths. "The Narendra Modi government has made drastic curbs in allocation and release of funds to the state. And, they are now saying no jobs in the public sector. How does a government in an isolated state like Tripura function?" Sarkar wondered.

"The most dangerous trend of the new government is its neglect of the agriculture sector under the influence of a few corporate houses. To liberalize budget deficit, we have been demanding direct taxes based on economic status, but it is being discouraged and the government is announcing tax holiday for the richer sections in society," Sarkar added.

However, criticizing the BJP’s Foreign Policy Sarkar said that the BJP govt. has kept its gateway open for countries like America. “It is also shameful incident that Obama was the chief guest on 66th Republic Day”, said Sarkar.

CM Manik Sarkar today later after the party rally also attended a meeting along with DM and all district level officers and has appreciated the works under South Tripura.
