BELONIA, Oct 19 (TIWN): Massive Doctors’ crisis is going on in Tripura and the rural hospitals sometimes go Doctor-less amid over 400 passed-out Doctors are Jobless. The unemployed nurses met the Health Director many times seeking robust recruitment drives, but the situation remained the same. Yesterday TIWN had reported how the Patients were waiting for Doctors for hours and as no Doctor was seen, many patients returned to a primary health centre in South Tripura. This was not an isolated incident but in deep rural areas, the same problems are going on.

In Tripura, over 400 passed-out Doctors are unemployed and more than 5,000 nurses are also unemployed, but the State Govt is not taking any serious attempts to recruit employees under the Health Dept. As per the local correspondent’s report within a long gap of 3 hours, no doctor was seen in the Health Center to provide services to the patients who were waiting eagerly for a Doctor.

It is known that the Mychara Primary Health Center runs with only 3 Doctors and among them one Doctor has been given deputation to Belonia and another Doctor is on vacation.

A low-pressure patient who was unable to move was waiting for Doctors for hours.

Amid such conditions, Tripura CM Biplab Deb claims that Tripura Health Services are better than Hyderabad and Mumbai.
