AGARTALA, Sep 18 (TIWN): Trinamool Congress leaders, members led by Bengal MP Santanu Sen visited the DG office today seeking permission for Abhishek Banerjee’s rally as the local police had failed to give any answer whether TMC can organize a rally or not. TMC leadership announced that TMC will go to the Court if permission is not given as already two times, the rally was deferred after police in the last moment cancelled the rallies. As TMC said it may go to Court, now police have not rejected the appeal but did not give permission also. Such undemocratic treatment to the opposition or any set of mob raising voices with legitimate demands have been deprived of rallies permission many times.

From the INPT party to 10323 teachers had to appeal in the Court for permission.

On the contrary, when opposition parties are not allowed to organize rallies, the BJP party everyday across Tripura organizes various programmes without even police permission.

TMC’s September 15 rally was cancelled at the last moment and then September 16’s rally was also cancelled with the excuse of Viswakarma puja whereas BJP organized many programmes on these days. Now, about September 22 also, Police did not yet clarify its stand.

TMC said that as BJP knows that TMC’s rally will be massive, so it is afraid to face it.
