AGARTALA, Sep 17 (TIWN): In an implicit demonstration that political corruption is exploiting media freedom in the nation, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb was seen sharing dais today at Rabindra Bhawan with 3 of the prime accused persons in media house burning incidents. Out of around 7 to 8 BJP leaders and its youth wing top leaders who were seen leading the violent rally of BJP on 8th September, 2021 followed by burning and vandalizing of 2 media houses in Agartala and 2 opposition party offices there 3 leaders shared dais with CM Biplab Deb. The 3 are : 1) Tinku Roy, 2) Nabadul Banik and 3) Papia Datta. The violence was planned allegedly by BJP leader Rajib Bhattacharjee in Krishna Nagar party office and so far not a single person was arrested in this connection. Amid lots of protest movements were organized in Agartala and many other places, no action was taken by police yet. The evidence of the pre-planned violence is however recorded in cameras and viral in social media.
The programme was organized on the occasion of PM Modi's birthday in Agartala Rabindra Bhawan led by BJP Yuva Morcha.
On 8th September, 2 media houses - Pratibadi Kalam, Daily Desher Katha and two CPI-M party offices including party headquarter were set on fire, stone pelted by BJP kariyakartas with "Jai Sree Ram", "Bharat Mata ki Joy" slogans. The rally was led by BJP leaders Rajib Bhattacharjee, MLA Kalyani Roy, Mohila Morcha President Papia Datta, Yuva Morcha leaders Nabadul Banik, Viki Prasad. The rally stopped in front of Pratibadi Kalam newspaper and then two party offices of CPI-M and at last Daily Desher Katha newspaper office. One by one, these four offices were set on fire, all the vehicles, bikes, bicycles were burnt, stone pelting has injured many.
