AGARTALA, March 7 (TIWN): Pradyot Manikya’s pre-poll alliance with NC Debbarma, Mebar Jamatia fell apart amid memories of ‘kiss’ on head, expressing ‘Love’ to NC Debbarma in press meet ahead of ADC Election. Confused Politician cum former Congress President Pradyot Manikya, who left Congress over NRC's implementation demand issue in Tripura announced his organization TIPRA's participation in the ADC Poll.
It’s important to remember that TIPRA organization is no political party, it’s an NGO, it’s not clear on how it will contest ADC Election without a political party tag. As backup for TIPRA's vote banks, Pradyot Manikya signed a MoU with IPFT with a vision to battle the ADC Poll jointly. But in an unprecedented gesture Manikya announced a demand of Greater Tipraland which has been widely criticized.
For IPFT also there are issues with the TIPRA alliance. The first issue is IPFT might lose its own unique identity whereas the Ministers will lose their Ministry if alliance with BJP is broken. BJP as a national party came up strongly against such Greater Tipraland demands whereas BJP MP Rebati Tripura called the Greater Tipraland demands is communal and also labelled Pradyot Manikya a communal.
Pradyot Manikya's fans and followers have drastically dropped among non-tribe population since he raised a Greater Tipraland demand which might affect any political party for the majority vote bank shares in the main Assembly Election.
As IPFT has manipulated the politcal ethics by aligning with Tipra BJP Krishnanagar Office allegedly gave hint to IPFT about probable outcomes if it breaks alliance with BJP : 1) Both IPFT Ministers will lose their Ministry, 2) From Corporation to Block, IPFT members will be dropped, 3) Reopening of Journalist Santanu Bhoumik murder case, where IPFT leaders' names are booked.
After getting a clear picture of the outcome of breaking alliance with BJP, IPFT broke its alliance with TIPRA. While addressing a Bishramganj rally, Pradyot Manikya broke in tears saying, he has been betrayed under dirty politics. Sources informed BJP is going to fight in 20 seats now and IPFT will get 8 seats in the upcoming ADC Poll.
