AGARTALA, Jan 13 (TIWN): As per Joint Movement Committee (JMC) member Dalia Das's statement to media after a long meeting took place between JMC and Education Secretary along with Director, the Secretary Saumya Gupta reportedly told JMC that she has no power to take any decision. Dalia Das said that the Education Secretary told them that they don't have any power even to transfer anyone. Education Secretary Saumya Gupta reportedly expressed her 'helplessness' situation before the highest authority. While addressing media, Dalia Das, a former teacher told media that the Education Secretary said to JMC representatives, 'If CM and Education Minister don't keep words, what can we do ?' No major development has been reported from 10323 Teachers Joint Movement Committee and Education Secretary, Director's meeting held on Wednesday after hour-long discussions about legal issues and errors in the verdict interpretation. However, a next meeting has been fixed on 16th January and then Secretariat Gherao on 18th January if No Proper reply comes, informed JMC to media.
However, for today, no breakthrough was reported from the JMC meeting but JMC informed media that their protest to be continued by JMC without any compromise.
Talking to media, another teacher Amulya Debbarma said, "Only liars are afraid of the reality. We are teachers, not criminals. What was the need of so many police officials' deployment against us ? But, JMC is with truth and we will fight for the truth".
10323 Teachers' JMC protest at the same time has fallen on Day-38 and now the teachers to continue their agitation amid no hope given by the Education Director.
