AGARTALA, Jan 11 (TIWN): The main impression of the BJP party created before the 2018 election about its stand on 10323 teachers was after the Double-Engine is set in State and Centre with collaboration of both State Govts, constitutional amendment will be initiated. At that time, Assam Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also mentioned that a letter in this regard was sent to the Union Law Minister for the Departmental permission but what happened to the file is unknown. 10323 teachers before the 2018 election had walked with Modi's photo as BJP created an impression that it will secure 10323 teachers' livelihoods and thus the ad-hoc notifications given by Tripura Govt were set on fire. But now 10323 teachers are left jobless for the last 9 months and the death toll has risen to 81. While addressing the 36th day of protest, teacher Mintu Debbarma asked, "What happened to such promises which said that constitutional amendment will be done by the Govt ? Why have you forgotten your own promises ?"
