AGARTALA, November 29 (TIWN): When the Tripura govt. is now in a race to save its face over its faulty employment policy and the fate of 10,323 terminated teachers, on the other hand the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee demanded for a quality school education in Tripura. The state govt. has recently framed a new employment policy following the order of the Tripura High Court. But the TPCC today claimed that the state govt. has proved their previous employment policy as wrong and illegal. "The state govt. is simply playing a double-standard politics with the education here in Tripura,"TPCC working President Ashish Saha said today in a press conference at Congress Bhawan.

Talking to the media persons here at Congress Bhawan today the TPCC working president Ashish Saha informed that the state govt. had been always compromising with the quality education resulting the students of the state to remain behind from a better education system at the state.

He said that, though the state govt. had called for an interview for the post of the primary teachers recruitment during the year 2002, 2006 and 2009, but the state govt.failed to fill up the vacant posts, and without following any employment policy recruited the 10, 323 Graduate, Post- Graduate and Under- Graduate teachers during the year 2014, whose jobs are now uncertain.

Mr. Saha alleged that there was nepotism and corruption by the CPI (M) in giving jobs and needy people were deprived as jobs were distributed among the ruling party cadres. He said, the way jobs were distributed would also not be able to impart quality education to the students.

He told that the state government did not want to educate future generation.

He also alleged that no educated and honest individual or group was with left front and the party knew it better that ,   -- if the youths become educated and attain eligibility to appear various competitive exams, they will never show much interest in politics and support CPI-M or left front. And that was the reason left front did not want to ensure quality education at primary level.

Recently 6,600 primary teachers were appointed by the Left Front government after a gap of 17 years.

The Tripura High Court on Wednesday issued order on the case relating to recruitment in Under-Graduate, Graduate and Post-Graduate Teachers under the Department of School Education and cancelled the entire recruitment process of 10,323 teachers. The Court said that all candidates inducted in the said posts can continue service till December 31, 2014. The Court order said that all recruitments made under the Department of School Education in the past three years under the categories of Under Graduate Teachers, Graduate Teachers and Post Graduate Teachers would be cancelled on December 31, 2014.

However, later the state govt. challenging the HC’s order filed an interlocutory application with the Supreme Court and are expecting the hearing on January’2015. It is to be mentioned here that a section of the job aspirants among 10,323 teachers will be filing a criminal case against the State Government. A highly informed source states that, if State Government failed to win the 10,323 teacher termination case in the Supreme Court, most of the teachers will file case against the Government. As per legal experts, State Govt stands no chance to win 10323 case in Supreme Court.
