Tripura High Court sought further clarification on COVID-19 Management on Sep 28, asked Govt to develop communication between Patient Parties and Hospital Management : Directed State Govt to fix COVID treatment highest charge at ILS Hospital

AGARTALA, Sep 18 (TIWN): Tripura High Court has sought further clarification on COVID-19 Management on Sep 28 (next hearing date) and has asked Tripura Govt to develop the communication between Patient Parties and Hospital Management in the interest of increasing trust of patients in the Health Services. It has also directed the State Govt to fix COVID treatment's highest charge which can been taken maximum at ILS Hospital, which is a private hospital. Addressing media, High Court Senior Advocate Purushottom Roy Barman has said, "I am not connected in this case but as you have asked to explain the order, so I am addressing the media but I have no link with the case. As you know that the High Court on 11th September had took a suo moto case on COVID-19 management based on various reports published in local newspapers, the State Govt had replied to the notice of the Court on 17th September.

High Court asked, how many patients are in West District of COVID-19, but when the Advocate General said 413 patients, in contrary, in the affidavit, due to typing mistake it shown 3074, which needs to be clarified further as per High Court's order.

"Then, High Court also mentioned, when ILS hospital has been given permission to treat corona patients but the charge of treatment has not been fixed. Today High Court has direcetd State Govt to fix the highest price of treatement there. Court has also directed for betterment of the communication between hospital authority and the patient party. The patients with various diseases should be taken care properly in all sides and thus to create a faith among the patient parties, hospital must communicate with the patients parties in better means", the senior advocate has said.

"There is a dedicated mobile number in COVID-centre, GB. Today, High Court has asked the Govt to create a special inquiry cell, instead of a single mobile number, which will ease the communication further between patient parties and the hospital. The cell should be made at the AGMC centre. High Court has asked about the total numbers of testing, positive cases, recovery rates. High Court also said, patients complaints and suggestions should be taken and on next 28th September, the next hearing will be pronounced. Central medical team's reports also have been asked by the court", said Barman.
