PM’s  Palatana visit : Barely 67 hrs. Left : PMO cancels State Secretariat visit

AGARTALA, November 28 (TIWN): Barely 67 hours left for the much awaited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit here in Tripura. The state administration geared up to accord red carpet welcome of Modi for the inauguration of the Palatana OTPC 363 MW of Unit - II. A meeting was held at Agartala Birchandra State Central Library.

Modi’s guard of honour at Agartala airport and meeting with the Tripura Ministers at the State Secretariet had been cancelled.

This sudden cancellation of Modi's visit to State Secretariet being seen as a snub to Manik Sarkar's Govt and corruptions. PM's  State Secretariet visit was specifically requested by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar to impress upon Modi for more fundings.

Interacting with the media persons on Friday ICA Secretary Shantanu Das highlighted the intimation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit here in Tripura on December 1. Mr. Das informed that on December 1, PM Modi will arrive here in Agartala airport at 1:30 Pm, from where He will straightway go to Palatana through the helicopter. But PM Modi’s guard of honor at Agartala airport had been cancelled.

Mr. Das, interacting with the media persons informed that PM Modi will land at Palatana helipad at around 2:05 Pm. And then he will inaugurate the Palatana OTPC 363 MW Unit - II. And later after addressing a mass gathering there at Palatana Modi will return to Agartala airport at 3:05 Pm, from where he will leave for Delhi. At least 1 hour had been reserved for PM Modi at Palatana.

Mr. Das further added that Modi’s meeting with the Tripura Ministers at the Secretariet during his visit had also been cancelled.

No media persons will be allowed to cover the inauguration of the OTPC second unit at Palatana Power Plant, neither the media will be allowed for the coverage of the Modi’s landing at Palatana helipad. And on the other the Medias are restricted at Agartala airport, said Mr. Das ICA Secretary.

He informed that, the permitted media persons are only allowed to cover the mass gathering at Palatana, where PM Modi will deliver his address. The SPG team during their visit to Palatana ahead of Modi’s visit had already selected the stage for the media coverage, following which two stages had been made for the media persons.
