AGARTALA, July 8 (TIWN): ‘Rs. 28 per cylinder is given by the Central Govt to the Gas Agencies for Home Delivery purpose and so if any customer instead of getting Home Delivery, purchasing cylinders directly from the agencies, then there is absolutely no need of paying that extra money. So, you will pay Rs. 28 less than the price tag when you bought it after standing in rows……..”, said Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Thursday to the 6.5 lakhs of LPG cooking Gas Cylinder buyers of his state.

CM was addressing in "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" programme in Nazrul Kalashetra and expressed resentments over the attitude of the Gas Agency owners.

“Don’t allow any Corruption…………”, Biplab Deb added in his statement.

The Chief Minister also had a meeting with Indian Oil officials recently and directed them to verify the bills regularly by visiting house to house.

Deb also said, that Rs. 1.80 crores of moneys are thus per month looted by the Gas Agencies from the public in Tripura. Around 6.5 lakhs of connections are existing in the state.

CM urged consumers to be aware about their rights. He also said that every home delivery person has to show the measurement of the gas in front of the customers and then will give a receipt copy.
