Tripura Govt sets goal of Samples Collections, Tests of all returnees to State

AGARTALA, May 31 (TIWN): Chief Minister Biplab Deb has announced about sample collections and tests of all returnees to state. The state government is taking initiatives to test the samples of all coming from other states. Chief Minister Biplab Deb said this after attending a meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti at Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) on Saturday. Speaking to media, he said the people are now alert on COVID19 pandemic and properly maintaining the quarantine procedure at every level including villages. Besides, the newly-formed local committees are also working actively in the fight against novel coronavirus, he said.“The Health department is giving its best from primary health centres to GBP and AGMC hospital. I congratulate all frontline warriors from doctor to cleaning staff for their efforts in the fight against COVID19,” the Chief Minister said.

Referring to the Corona situation, he said the recovery rate in Tripura is in good position. “The samples of all Bangladesh and Maharashtra returnees are being tested. Besides, samples of a good number of Chennai returnees have also been tested. More equipments are coming to state and the government is planning to conduct COVID19 test of all coming from other states,” the Chief Minister told Media.

Expressing his reaction on the letter of Mizoram Chief Minister on Bru resettlement issue, the Chief Minister said, “anybody can write letter but the decision will take the Government of respective state government.”

“The Bru settlement was a long pending issue and finally it came to an end under the leadership of Modi ji. They will be resettled in the state very soon. The state government will decide the place of their settlement,” he said.

The Chief Minister also spoke about the SOP for the connectivity of Tripura and other NE states with Chittagong port of Bangladesh. The SOP is important for the entire NE region. Besides, the approval of protocol route linking Tripura with Bangladesh is also a big achievement for Tripura, he said.
