Chennai returned new COVID-19 patients shifted to Bhagat Singh Treatment Care

AGARTALA, May 20 (TIWN): COVID-19 Patients were brought to the Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel treatment centre after they tested positive. On yesterday, total 4 Chennai returnees were tested COVID-19 positive in Tripura. They came via Shramik special train comprised of around 1,400 passengers. CM tweeted, “850 samples have been tested for #COVID19 today and among them 4 persons found POSITIVE. All four #COVID19 patients have returned from Chennai and are now under treatment. We are committed to ensure your safety. Stay safe”. Thus, total 55 active cases are now in Tripura. As on Tuesday’s record, it has been informed that in the Bhagat Singh treatment centre there are only a total of 46 COVID-19 patients are existing and in GB treatment centre total 5 cases are active and now 4 new patients, so total numbers of cases are 55 now. Total 27 patients were released from Bhagat Singh COVID-19 care centre after all of them were tested negative but from GB no patient was released today.

The discharged patients now to stay in 14 days quarantine centre under BSF whereas today’s BSF jawans are from the 86th Bn including a 3 years baby. Talking to media, a Doctor has said that after releasing these 27 patients, now in the Bhagat Singh centre there are only 46 patients and also more 5 are at GB hospital.

Total 55 (51+today’s 4) active cases are in Tripura right now. On yesterday 2 fresh cases were found but as they are stable, were brought in the Bhagat Singh treatment centre.

Around 130 patients are cured. In GB hospital, which is the main quarantine centre, only 5 patients are remaining.

Tripura Govt to form Corona Monitoring Awareness Committee at the Panchayat level and CM will announce everything in details, said Law Minister Ratanlal Nath. This committee basically will help the administration to monitor the home quarantine people.
