AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, March 28 (TIWN): Tripura bureaucracy led by Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar, Health Secretary Debashis Basu, AMC Commissioner Shailesh Yadav to other IAS, TCS officials swung into action to maintain essential services supply into Tripura. So far Central Govt has filled up 20% of the demands sent by state Tripura bureaucrats. To control the COVID-19 emergency situations, State Govt's experienced officials are so far performing in much mature ways by proving administrative skills, giving regular updates to state including free food distribution by setting up kitchens amid state’s limited funds and central govt led massive pending amounts including Rs. 73 crores of MGNREGA wages. Tripura Health Secretary Dr. Debasish Basu in routine evening briefing before media said, “Total N95 masks for Health Workers 7,431, Triple layer masks 33,056, PPE kits total 539 are available now. So, around 20% of the demand of Tripura Govt is fulfilled by Centre. We have also demanded total 20 ventilators.Now we have stocks of 65 day's rice and wheat, 32 day's sugar, 26 day's salt, moosoor daal of 12 days. We are trying to mitigate the gaps. Hope, no crisis will happen with food items”.

“900 food packets were distributed today to homeless, daily workers and in night 1000 will be distributed”, said Debasish Basu.

Air India Cargo flight has landed with Essential Commodities in Agartala Airport today. First cargo flight operated by Air India landed at 13:40 pm today carrying 77 Cartons of essential items and weighing 457 kg. The flight came from Kolkata and it  returned today itself to kolkata. Tripura Govt is trying uninterrupted supply of essential items. AAI is also doing its best by opening ATC watch and ensuring the expeditious landing of Cargo flights at MBB Airport.  It is the first cargo flight operated for COVID-19 supplies in Tripura by Air India landed at 13:40 pm today carrying 77 Cartons of essential items and weighing 457 kg.  The flight came from Kolkata and it will return today itself to Kolkata. 

“It’s a big relief for the people of Tripura that the Govt is ensuring uninterrupted supply of essential items. AAI is also doing its best by opening ATC watch and ensuring the expeditious landing of Cargo flights at MBB Airport”, a statement stated. 

“Total 88 tests till now were done, all found with negative on COVID-19. In Tripura total 5316 passengers under Surveillance, Institutional Quarantine 49, Home Quarantine 5267 persons in Tripura COVID-19 pandemic whereas till today total 88 tests were done and all were found negative”. Talking about the masks availability, Dr Debasish Basu told media here. 

Another high Govt official said that now Govt is trying to think more deeply about the rural situations also.   Urban Development Dept Secretary Kiran Gitte while briefing media said that the food distribution matter will be made more systematic and already Dept is not allowing gathering, rather AMC workers are reaching out each starving people to allocate food.
