AGARTALA, Feb 25 (TIWN): Supreme Court led sacked 10323 teachers hoisted a massive protest in Agartala today demanding their job security and continuation of teachers’ jobs. A deputation was placed to Education Director with 5 points of demands. Addressing media, Bimal Saha, one of the teachers among 10323 teachers said, “We have met various Depts’ officials, Education Minister and also sat in meeting with the ruling BJP State President recently. We demand, like the CPI-M Govt, BJP should not cheat us. A hearing date is ahead in the Supreme Court and on 16th March there will a hearing on that particular mentioned case and that will decide the ultimate fate of the teachers”. The 10323 teachers said that hearing will reveal Govt’s intention and prove whether the Govt is with the teachers or not. Supreme Court has issued notice to State Govt on that case, said teacher Bimal Saha to media. He further said, via "Law", Tripura Govt must help the teachers as they promised so earlier (before Election).

On the other side, on being asked by media, Education Minister Ratanlal Nath said that Govt will announce an alternative job for the 10323 teachers by February-March and said Govt is very positive to save them, announcing further that 13000 posts which were created by previous Left Govt was nothing but "Contempt of Court".

Huge numbers of teachers joined the rally today followed by a deputation was placed to Education Director, announced another big protest ahead in March month, most likely on 15^th or 16^th March and the teachers to be present with their family members in the protest.

The 10323 teachers had lost their jobs in High Court and later in Supreme Court after spotting irregularities in the recruitment process.
