AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Feb 24 (TIWN): After Tripura Bar Association Election was lost by BJP massively and BJP ended with only 3 seats out of 15 seats, now Tripura High Court Bar Association Election is the next challenge. Although, BJP faced a massive embarrassment after yesterday’s defeat in lower court, amid Advocate General Arun Kanti Bhowmik’s claim on 15 seats out of 15 seats will be won by BJP, now after Arun Kanti Bhowmik's faceloss, BJP legal cell convener Biswajit Deb today followed by the submission of BJP's nomination for High Court Bar Association Election, said that out of 11 seats BJP to win 11. On the other side, Congress acting President cum senior Advocate Pijush Biswas claimed that even BJP’s members not to vote for BJP in High Court Bar Association Election. High Court Bar Association Election to be held on 7th March, whereas total 190 voters to cast their votes.

Nomination filling up started from 18th February whereas the last date of submission is 25th February. Nomination withdrawal’s last date is 3rd March, 2020.

Tripura Bar Association Election Result 2020, BJP lost massively:  Out of 15, BJP won only 3 seats where among the 5 important seats, BJP’s score is zero. Congress, CPI-M backed lawyers who constituted a forum named “Save Constitution” have won the election. The top winning members are : 1) Mrinal Kanti Biswas (President), 2)Subashish Dey (Vice President), 3)Secretary (Koushik Indu), 4) Mitali Nadni (Assistant Secretary), 5) Sujay Sarkar (Assistant Secretary). After the massive victory, the winners said that they wanted a politics-free Bar where the BJP destroyed the culture there totally.

On being asked by media, Advocates said that Judiciary must be freed from politics or public will not get justice.

“BJP which attempted to interfere the Bar, today got the result. It is proven which party due to its unethical attitude lose ground”, said a senior Congress leader cum advocate.

“We have won all the seats except 3. We are extremely happy as Saving the Constitution is very important”, said newly elected President Mrinal Kanti Biswas.

The "Save Constitution Forum", an alliance of Communist Party of India-Marxist and Congress, candidate Mrinal Kanti Biswas, Subhasis De, Koushik Indu, Awon the posts of President, Vice-President and Secretary respectively.

The "Save Constitution Forum" nominated candidates Mitali Nandi and Sujay Sarkar, both Assistant Secretary also succeeded in the polls defeating the BJP supported "Law and Legal Affairs" candidates.

The "Law and Legal Affairs" backed candidates won only three of the ten posts of Executive Members while the seven posts secured by the candidates of "Save Constitution Forum".

The TBA elections'' returning officer Sandip Datta Choudhuri said that 389 of the total of 409 lawyers (voters) have voted in the polls, which was held on Sunday and results were declared late Sunday night.
