AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Jan 17 (TIWN): Reacting over the continuous jail custody of former CPI-M Minister Badal Chowdhury, former Minister cum MLA Tapan Chakraborty mentioned, when police failed to file even a partial chargesheet against Badal Chowdhury why has the court ordered his jail custody for a long time. Tapan Chakraborty said that this is a totally politically motivated case against Badal Chowdhury to hide BJP Govt’s own failures. The Leftist MLAs also boycotted the first day of Tripura Assembly in protest against case registered against Badal Chowdhury on October 13 night which caused huge tortures upon him for a long time. After boycotting the Assembly, addressing media, former Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty said that his party is sorry to reject the Assembly but it was necessitated as the oldest winning MLA of Tripura is in jail in a fake case. Tapan Chakraborty also hit the BJP Govt for its total failure to fulfill the Vision Document.

Badal Chowdhury was arrested in a politically motivated case on a PWD construction work and Govt of Tripura brought tremendous mental and police tortures upon him in last 3 months during is custody, although the PWD work itself was approved by PAC.

Even though police failed to submit any chargesheet but Ex Minister Badal Chowdhury’s bail petition was rejected today in the Session court on January 9. The next hearing will be on January 21.

However, on January 13, one month of the FIR against Badal Chowdhury to be completed, which was done allegedly in a politically motivated aim by the BJP Govt as the work was PAC approved.

High Court has removed two charges against Badal Chowdhury but today his bail petition was denied. 

Today CPI-M’s student wings also staged massive protest against the fabricated cases brought against Badal Chowdhury.
