AGARTALA, Nov 14 (TIWN): DYFI State Secretary Nabarun Deb has slammed the West District police for stopping one after one rallies of the opposition, asking what is Police’s problem if public march protests with their demands ? What is the issue if “Farmers” and “Dalits” raise their problems ? Deb asked, whether the Law and Order situation has so deteriorated in this state that police can’t manage rallies ? “We condemn the attitude of the administration towards farmers and Dalits. We have observed in the same way, in Kashmir also people are restricted inside their homes. They are unable to raise their voices. So, there are two reasons can be for that, either there is no law and order or there is a fascist Govt which is not allowing people to hold protests. Democracy is under severe attacks and crisis of works and jobs are increasing day by day with the age of the aligned Govt”, said Nabarun Deb.Farmers’ backed by CPI-M held a massive rally on yesterday and shocked by massive rally of the farmers, BJP led administration stopped farmers rally on yesterday in Agartala from marching the capital city. The CPI-M infact had conducted the biggest ever gathering of the year which left the whole Agartala city paralyzed.

Reacting over BJP Govt’s traditional attitude against agitators, former MP Jitendra Chowdhury on yesterday while addressing at the rally said, “Don’t force angry people who are suffering already to break laws. When they will break laws, then you will not be able to control the situation”.

The gathering crossed beyond expectation, although everyone could not stand in the gathering and remained in the Melarmath area.

The crowd was gathered voicing against BJP Govt’s inhuman decision of scrapping various subsidies to the farmers in agriculture related products. Govt allegedly here has also failed to compensate the farmers in the last 2 years losses due to disasters.

Another Dalit rally on September 16 was too cancelled by BJP Govt, which was also one of the biggest protests launched by the CPI-M.
