AGARTALA, Nov 8 (TIWN): During the hearing of former CPI-M Minister Badal Chowdhury case, Advocate Purushottom Roy Barman told the Court how the police custody is targeted an accused to be murdered now a days.

"We have also appealed to court to be kind enough to take a neutral judgment and also exposed why do they (Govt sides) want Badal Chowdhury in Police custody. They want Badal Chowdhury in Police custody just to insult him, embarrass him which already they did openly", said Purushottom Roy Barman.

"There is no need of Police custody because ultimate aim is to interrogate and that can be done during the jail custody too. We have also cited how 19 years old boy Mangal Das, who was murdered in police custody at R K Pur PS and if Mangal Das was not given police custody then Mangal Das could be survived", said Purushottom Roy Barman.

Badal Chowdhury reportedly by name mentioned his murder conspirators' names before the Court, but right now advocates are not entertaining media to disclose the conspirator names and asked media to hold patience till 11th November.
