Modi left Tripura fundless, Tax-Burdens hit ‘Acchee Din’

AGARTALA, Oct 19 (TIWN): After Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman admitted that GST is not flawless, here in Tripura State Finance Minister Jishnu Deb Barman said, due to GST states powers have been curbed. He said this on October 16 while imposing tariffs on Electricity.

Power Minster Jishnu Debbarma announced today that those who will have above Rs. 400 bill, they will only have to pay 5% excise duty otherwise not.

The Power Minister also claimed that below Rs. 400 bill payers’ numbers are around 52%

Jishnu Deb Barman added that due to GST it has become one tax  system and states lost much power, but Tripura Govt wants to stand on own feet by revenue generation, which has already increased, needs to be increase further.

The tax on electricity was announced by Jishnu Deb Barman amid statewide agitations going on against continuous tax hikes instead of self-investment.
