Court postponed final order, former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury’s interim bail till 16th Oct, next hearing 16th Oct

AGARTALA, Oct 14 (TIWN): After day long hearing, the West District Court has postponed the final order till 16th October but in a relief for former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury, court has accepted the interim bail petition of former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury. This interim bail is known as a temporary bail for a period in which higher court can call documents required to make a final decision on the bail application in which court can either grant permanent bail, extent interim bail or even can reject bail application. West Agartala Police lodged an FIR against former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury on Sunday whereas Choudhury appealed for an interim bail in the court. So, the hearing so far remained positive for Badal Choudhury as police are searching for Chouhdury without warrant allegedly since yesterday night, according to CPI-M leaders comments. The Govt lawyers after day-long hearing who failed to produce proper evidence and was allegedly taking time again and again (as per Gautam Das's statement).

After the arrest of Badal Choudhury was denied and interim bail was accepted said that next hearing will be on 16th October and bail can be extended or not it will  be clear by then.The Govt lawyers also said, CDs were produced the court but already time crossed and thus the Justice could not check the all evidences.

Another case was filed against former PWD Chief Engineer Sunil Bhowmik who was arrested today but police remand hearing will be again tomorrow.

But throughout the day, lots of dramas the state has witnesses and reportedly police without court’s order was running from South Tripura to Agartala to Airport in search of the former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury to arrest.

What shocked the state is that today during the hearing procedure, police led by Executive Magistrate Rinku Reang entered Melarmath CPI-M Party office for raid without any search warrant. This action came after justice asked police to halt the arrest till the hearing is pronounced.

Advocate Purushottom Roy Barman said that police have violated the law by this action.

Then CPI-M held a protest rally condemning police’s illegal actions and the FIR filed against Badal Choudhury and former PWD Chief Engineer Sunil Bhowmik.

Now tomorrow what the court says about Sunil Bhowmik case and Badal Choudhury on 16th October these are to be seen.
