AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Aug 28 (TIWN): In a usher of developmental aims for the transport-system’s development in Northeast state Tripura, Railway Chief Safety Commissioner Shailesh Kumar Pathak who visited Tripura to inspect the tracks not only certified the tracks but also said, Tripura has set a landmark with outstanding quality of tracks. There is no level crossing whereas Central Railway Ministry has targeted to remove all level crossing across tracks. He also informed Belonia-Sabroom Railway Service can be started from today also, as track qualities are high and that high quality of track is till Agartala Railway Station. Pathak who has inspected the tracks between Belonia and Sabroom said having an “Outstanding” quality.Prime Minister Narendra Modi also asked the Indian Railways to prepare a policy to remove all the manned level crossings on the Golden Quadrilateral route which connects metro cities on a ‘priority’ basis, on July 3rd, 2019 Railway Minister Piyush Goyal announced this.

“We have done the inspection of Railway Tracks between Belonia to Sabroom, which is consisting of 4 stations, having 3 block sections. The terminal section of the inspection was Sabroom and we started from Belonia. The beauty of the section is there is no surface crossing / level crossing and road is cutting across railway lines. This is a great achievement in itself”.

“Now, Railway Dept led by Piyush Goyal has announced that from across India level crossing will be removed in next 5 years, but here it has already started. Thus it is just outstanding and also can play role model. Govt of India’s move is already implemented in Tripura and a great work has been done by NFR. NFR deserves compliments from all sections of people for this great achievement”, Pathak said.

Tripura now has 5 express trains whereas just before 3 years it was connected by BG service (in 2016).

From September 1st, four DEMU train services will be started which will drastically increase the frequency of trains’ arrival in every stations.
