DEMU Train service to kick off before Durga Puja in Tripura : State Govt now pushes Centre for more connectivity including double-lane Rail-line between Agartala to Lumding

AGARTALA, Aug 23 (TIWN): When in another connectivity boon, Tripura has received DEMU train service for Dharmanagar- Agartala- Belonia- Sabroom a source informed that Tripura Govt led by Chief Minister Biplab Deb is pushing centre for more connectivity. With the initiative of Deb, central Govt is thinking over making double lane from Lumding to Agartala. Centre has permitted state to operate three pairs of DEMU service on the Dharmanagar-Agartala-Belonia-sabroom section, hoping this will go in longway in providing better connectivity to the travelling passengers of the State of Tripura. Tripura is also developing other connectivities through water-ways and road-ways.

Maitri bridge over river Feni is getting shape. It can be noted here that in another development for Indo-Bangla transport connectivity, recently Chief Minister Biplab Deb has demanded a bus service between Tripura’s Sabroom and Bangladesh’s Cox Bazar.

He said, there are various states in India where people of Tripura visit to see beaches whereas Bangladesh’s Cox Bazar is no less than that. It is also cost and time profit area for Tripura people.

Cox’s Bazar is a town on the southeast coast of Bangladesh. It’s known for its very long, sandy beachfront, stretching from Sea Beach in the north to Kolatoli Beach in the south. Aggameda Khyang monastery is home to bronze statues and centuries-old Buddhist manuscripts. South of town, the tropical rainforest of Himchari National Park has waterfalls and many birds. North, sea turtles breed on nearby Sonadia Island.

Tripura is also developing a Railway connectivity with Bangladesh. 

On June 15, Chief Minister Biplab Deb has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at New Delhi after the 5th NITI Aayog session was ended successfully.

Various demands for state’s development was placed before the PM by Biplab Deb including roadway projects, flood problems and malaria like diseases which grips Tripura each year.

Recently Tripura was allocated with 50 E-buses whereas Delhi-Agartala flight service has given a relief to the passengers. More flights including Dhaka-Agartala likely to join with Agartala MBB Airport. Govt is also developing Kailashahar Airport.
