NEW DELHI / AGARTALA,October 25 (TIWN): CPI(M) Central Committee'as four day long meeting will start tomorrow on 26th October in New Delhi. This meeting is learnt to be held to prepare strategies ahead of the Party Congress to be held in Vishakhapatam next year. In this meeting Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and other Central Committee members from Tripura are learnt to be attending. All the three MPs from Tripura will also attend this meeting. Earlier it was learnt from a top level Melarmath sources that in this meeting some members may draw the attention of the Central Committee to the recent scams discovered in almost every departments in Tripura. But on Saturday a top level leader of Melarmath informed TIWN that eyeing this Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has already left for Delhi and he will make every effort not to allow anybody to raise this issue. The leader also said that as party General Secretary Prakash Karat himself is trying to retain his lost ground even after completion of his three term and poor Lok Sabha of performance with only 9 MPs, Manik Sarkar may assure him full support from the party's Tripura wings in this case.

If Karat agrees on that issue, Manik Sarkar may urge the Karat & Co not to allow any of the Central Committee member to raise Tripura scam issue during the Central Committee.
It is learnt that a section of Central Committee members from West Bengal and Kerala known to be in the opposite of current Karat lobby will make an effort to attract the party's attention on the recent scams in Tripura. A leader close to that group told TIWN on Saturday afternoon," It is really  very serious that even Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's involvement in guarding the accused is now being discussed and that is a big concern for the party. After the debacle of Bengal and Kerala  , Tripura is the only place where the party is in power. And if indeed, it is true, then the end of party's regime is not very far. Central Committee should not neglect such issues if it really wants the party to retain its position in the state."
It is to be mentioned that in the recent MGNREGA scam in Bishalgarh R D Block of Rs 17 crore in which Manik Sarkar's close aide andf specially favoured TCS officer Bimal Chakraborty is involved, the role of the police is under serious question mark. It is now being debated that if police can arrest RMSA scam star  Arnab Chakraborty from his secret hiding place in Kolkata, how can it fail to detect Bimal Chakraborty for a month and 3 days , who was in Tripura even after the scam got leaked in media? What is more interesting in this case not only Bimal is close to Chief Minister but his brother Amal Chakraborty too is the DYFI state secretary. And removal of Badal Chowdhury from the Finance  Department after the discovery of massive MGNREGA scam in Internal Audit Report, has surely damaged the moral of the party leaders and workers. In such circumstances Central Committee meeting paved the way for highlighting such issues. But now Manik Sarkar is learnt to have arrived in New Delhi to suppress the issue even before it springs up.
