AGARTALA, Aug 16 (TIWN): Department of Political Science had started Friday Lecture Series under which many scholars were inviting for different topics to deliver which is very much related to Politico-Social, Educational, Cultural, Ethical issues to discuss.
These lectures had many faces like Teacher, Scholar & Students Centric. The third one in the series had Prof Jagdish Ganguli on 16/Aug/2019. Who enlightened the audience on the topic of ‘Political History of Tripura’ in detail, he describes the long history of Princely State Tripura.
He has described it under Geo-Political conditions which had Four Phases namely as Ganga/Brahmaputra, Parag, Gomti and Howrah Valley Phases. He further described that Bengali Culture is an example of Complex Culture of Artisan Groups.
Meghna Valley was consisting of Bengal region like Chitagogng, Bamman Bari, Tripura & Silhat. He particularises the topic by saying that Tripura is Geographically small but Demographically a big one due to migration of Bengali peoples from Meghna Valley. Anagha Ingole a faculty of Political Science department proposed a vote of thanks. In the beginning, HoD Alak Bhattacharya welcomes Prof J Ganguli. Department faculties like Prof K. N. Jena, Biplab Debnath, Dr.Mohammed Viquaruddin were present and interactive in the question-answer session.
Teachers, Scholars & Students from other departments like Journalism, History, Sports was also present. Sunil Kalai, Upadhayya Dipak from JMC and Roshni Rai of History, Madhu Manik Loadh of Sports Board with Political Science Scholars and nonteaching staff were amongst the audience.
