AGARTALA, Aug 16 (TIWN): Tripura BJP unseated the 25 years long ruling CPI-M Government in 2018 and unemployed youths covering around 7 lakhs people played a major role in brining BJP in power and a greater section out of them voted for BJP as in the Vision Document published by the then Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma it has been written clearly that once BJP comes in power, it will give 50,000 Govt jobs in the first one year. But in last 1.6 year 1,500 Govt jobs have been given including TET. This was the first lie in the Vision Document proven before masses. However, Govt has started skill development and 2,200 TSR recruitment process has been started. Recently CM also announced 4.85 lakhs youths have taken loans which is the signal that youths are capable to think differently. The former Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley promised Tripura’s 7 laksh unemployed youths that along with year jobs, at least 50,000 Govt jobs will be given only in the first one year of the BJP Govt. But after and 16 months of the Govt, it could not provide even 5,000 jobs which has frustrated the aspirants.

Moreover, Finance Dept has given a pause in recruitment via official letter alleging Tripura has enough numbers of Govt employees.

Centre for Monitoring of Indian Economy (CMIE) has revealed its monthly data on Indian state’s unemployment rates, listing Tripura on the top of the list. In compare to last month there is however 3% down in unemployment rate which was 26.6% and this month it stands at 23.3%. Himachal Pradesh emerged in the second position with 19.6% whereas Haryana at 19.5%. CMIE is a database of the financial performance of Indian companies. Annual Reports of individual companies is the principal source of this database.

Moreover, terminations of contractual employees are going on as a daily newspaper has reported more than thousand MGNREGA employees to lose jobs. Recently around thousand NHM employees under contract basis lost their jobs. Earlier mid-day-meal, JICA, health, AMC staffs were terminated.
