AGARTALA, Aug 12 (TIWN): Due to fear and terror-generation by ruling party and the Government, people are suppressed in Tripura for long, but ahead of 73rd Independence Day, public have woken up in massive protest in power substations, overcoming all fears, hence a positive move in the democracy. On Sunday night followed by massive load-shedding and nonfunctional telephonic helplines, people of Agartala came in heavy protest and also vandalized the offices in Ramnagar and certain protests were staged in the IGM area. However, when congratulations are deserved for the protest, the damage of Govt properties could be avoided as these are public-properties, made out of public taxes. TIWN too congratulates the mob for ‘massive protest’ in sub-station, but urging not to ‘Vandalize’ Govt properties in future.

Last week similar protest was staged at Santir Bazar area.

These are great achievements for Democracy ahead of Independence Day, raising question whether public have started revolting in Tripura ? This courageous protest of locals in Agartala followed by 1 year long load-shedding suffering.

A massive mob attack was reported in 2 power sub-stations in Agartala on yesterday due to massive load-shedding.

They also broke furniture inside the police station as few law and order problems allegedly emerged due to load-shedding. Reportedly such long power cut didn’t happen in last 10 to 12 years.

If this is the condition of the Agartala city, the rest of Tripura’s situation can be predicted. Bank and hospital services have been majorly affected due to 14 hours long load-shedding which has become a big challenge for the Govt. On yesterday, 14 hours long load-shedding generated resentments among the capital city.

No statement came from the Power Dept.
