AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Aug 8 (TIWN): A fresh report from Tripura says that a jawan under Tripura State Rifles (TSR) 9th Bn who was killed by smugglers while chasing the smugglers’ vehicle was not honoured with tri-colour Indian flag, neither any coffin was given in his last proceeding.
The incident took place on 24th July when Santir Bazar Police station was informed via sources that a smugglers’ vehicle was going from via Santir Bazar to Sabroom.
Police force also attempted to catch the smugglers and unfortunately during the process, Pralal Jyoti Dewan was shot by the smugglers and died.
But during the last proceeding of his rights neither coffin nor Indian flag was given to him, which has created massive resentment.
Family members demanded a job for the wife of the killed jawan as the family has no earning and left devastated. No proper investigation was also done in the case.
