State Tripura going through the real ‘Crisis’ due to massive Unemployment rate : BJP Govt fails to fill up much hyped 50,000 Govt vacancies in 1 year

AGARTALA, Aug 7 (TIWN): Countrywide various crisis situations, debates, conversations, international issues have heated up whereas in case of Tripura these issues could not spark much among the youths due to massive unemployment rate, the state is undergoing. The former Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley promised Tripura’s 7 laksh unemployed youths that along with year jobs, at least 50,000 Govt jobs will be given only in the first one year of the BJP Govt. But after and 5 years of the Govt, it could not provide even 5,000 jobs which has frustrated the aspirants. Moreover, Finance Dept has given a pause in recruitment via official letter alleging Tripura has enough numbers of Govt employees. Centre for Monitoring of Indian Economy (CMIE) has revealed its monthly data on Indian state’s unemployment rates, listing Tripura on the top of the list. In compare to last month there is however 3% down in unemployment rate which was 26.6% and this month it stands at 23.3%. Himachal Pradesh emerged in the second position with 19.6% whereas Haryana at 19.5%. CMIE is a database of the financial performance of Indian companies. Annual Reports of individual companies is the principal source of this database.

The database covers listed and unlisted companies. For listed companies, the database includes data sourced from the stock exchanges. There is a huge drop in Govt job rates in Tripura may be one of the reasons for increasingunemployment rate. Tripura tops in unemployment rate  in compare to other 29 states of India.BJP led Central Government under the leadership of the then Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on February 11, 2018 had promised Tripura’s 7 lakhs unemployed youths that if BJP is voted to power then within one year State Govt will fill-up 50,000 vacant posts, but State Finance Dept after BJP assumed power gave a pause in the recruitment asking all depts to stop recruitments.

Govt has taken initiative for skill development. 23,000 youths to be trained under Skill Development project by 2020.

Highest rate of unemployment is seen in the Education Dept whereas over thousands of unemployed are left jobless both in schools and colleges.

Govt is encouraging entrepreneurship to curb unemployment rate.
