AGARTALA, October 20 (TIWN): The prime accused in Rs. 17 crore MGNREGA scam, Bimal Chakraborty had been suspended from service on Monday. Under Secretary of Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), R.P. Dutta informed this today. Few days back, Govt. decided to suspend all the accused. Rather than arresting scamsters, interrogating them, easy path of suspension was chosen as all are hardcore CPIM supporters and close to Chief Minister. In the meantime the Gram Rozgar Sevaks connected with the scam are suspended also. Govt. had also instructed the respective departments in which Bimal Chakraborty was recently working to take steps. However, much delayed suspension rather than applying PREVENTION of CORRUPTION ACT, arrest of Bimal Chakraborty and his accomplice Minister somewhat looks like a pre-planned plot to fool people and safeguard Manik's lobby in State CPIM. However, the accused persons of multi-crore scam in Bishalghar RD Block are still at large. Even, no strict action has been taken by the police administration rather enacting fake drama in the name of raid.

It is to be mentioned that under instruction from top brass, the incumbent Block Development Officer (BDO) of Bishalgarh, Subrata Das,registered an FIR on 19th September against his predecessor and incumbent Assistant Director of Information Department, Bimal Chakraborty and 11 others, the source mentioned. The alleged scam in MGNREGA fund and a few other Central flagship projects have occurred during past two financial years, according to the report of State audit bureau. Police registered a case in this issue (Case no-135/14) under section 409 of IPC. After one month of FIR, Bimal Chakraborty had been finally suspended on Monday.
They did not raid the house of Bimal Chakraborty. But inspite of that, raid had been conducted to the relatives of Mr. Chakraborty.  As a result, a question is being raised among the public, whether the state government will take any stern action against the BDO Bimal Chakraborty including other accused persons or not?
Police are still continuing drama in the name of investigation under the direction of Melarmath. Most Surprisingly, the police had netted RMSA scamster Arnab Chakraborty from Kolkata but police could not arrest the brother of CPI-M youth leader and close to ruling front, multi-crore MGNREGA scamster- Bimal Chakraborty.

Back in May'2014, Finance Minister Badal Chowdhury sent the entire IAR to Chief Minister's Office as well as Chief Secretary's Office on 19/05/2014 vide No.F.2632/Min/Fin/2014 giving a special Note-4 saying ," Note no 2 & 3 is approved . An FIR should be lodged against the involved Govt staff i.e. Programme Officer(BDO) and other implementing officers of Laxmibill Gram Panchayat under Bishakgarh R D Block within 7 days by the R D Deott for misappropriation of Rs 57.04lakhs(SL 1,2&6in note no-2) of public exchequer/Govt fund".

A top level CPI(M) leader told TIWN," DYFI state Secretary Amal Chakraborty was informed about that IAR by an official close to Chief Minister. And immediately Amal Chakraborty and his elder brother Prof Shyamal Chakraborty came to CMs residence for a special meeting. Here both the brothers of Bimal Chakraborty told Chief Minister Manik Sarkar that the IAR was intentionally prepared under Badal Chowdhury's instruction to defame their brother Bimal Chakraborty. And hearing this CM too assured them that no action would be taken by the police to harras Bimal. The the outcome of that special meeting is that the IAR was submitted on 19th May and on 23rd May Cabinet was reshuffled and Badal Chowdhury was removed from Finance Ministry and Bhanu Lal Saha, who too was suspected to be involved in MGNREGA scam in Bishalgarh Block, has been given the Charge of Finance Department." This is no surprise that the attempt was made with a pure intention to protect the corrupted BDO Bimal Chakraborty,  probably the most trusted TCS officer of Manik Sarkar.

Who can touch people like Bimal whose elder brother Shyamal is CM's childhood close friend, next brother Kamal is Commandant of TSR, another one Amal Chakraborty is DYFI State Secretary - apart from all that, Bimal's "Manikda" will always protect like a godfather.  People of Tripura already discussing that how corrupt is actually "Mr Clean " ?  From Tamilnadu CM Jayalalitha to many other CM's in Country , all went jail for corruption, so when is Tripura's turn ???  History never forgives the politicians who are filled with sin, so only the time will tell the rest.
