AGARTALA, June 22 (TIWN): According to media and official data records Tripura is the state which tops in unemployment amongst all the 29 states of India by 2018-19. However, Tripura’s unemployment rate is a major problem for the Governments who ruled the state and the state has been consistently topped in unemployment rate for many years. The data displayed in Website shown Gujarat is having the Lowest Unemployment rate with only 10 unemployed out of thousand. After Gujarat, Karnataka is having the second less unemployment rate with 15 and Chattishgrah is 3rd with 19. In the backbenchers list after Tripura where the unemployment rate is 197 per thousand, Sikkim is second with 181, Kerala 125. This is a shock for Kerala which always had low grade of unemployment rate. Tripura’s rural unemployment is a major concern with 203 per 1000 and in urban areas it is 172 per thousand. BJP Govt at Centre led by the then Finance Minister in February 2018 had promised to allocate 50,000 Govt jobs to Tripura’s unemployed youths which has been ended by 1377 only.

Govt of Tripura has however decided only to count the unemployed on the asis of NCS registration as it has been seen that many established people’s names are in employment exchange just because they don’t have a govt job. The Ministry of Labour and Employment is presently implementing the National Career Service (NCS) project by Transforming Employment Exchange to model career centres and career centres.
The most concerned matter is that Tripura’s unemployment rate which was 24.6% in April month according CMIE report, in May month it has shot up to 30.2%. Under the previous Leftist Govt also unemployment rate was highest but it was limited at 11%. According to May, 2019’s data of CMIE Chandigarh, Haryana’s names come in the unemployment list after Tripura at 18%. Tension also erupted as amid massive unemployment ongoing in Tripura, Govt of India has released data that the unemployment rate is increasing at the national level without a pause and 6.1% which is indeed highest in last 45 years. However, with the new cabinet formation usher of hope is there that there will certain solutions in coming days. The GDP rate has fallen below China. According to Central Statistics Office (CSO) it has been revealed that GDP growth during 2018-19 fiscal stood at 6.8 per cent, lower than 7.2 per cent in the previous financial year.
