AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): Tripura BJP’s ally IPFT has slammed BJP alleging it could not meet the promises of alliance. IPFT state leader Mangal Debbarma has told media here that BJP came in power with help of IPFT and without IPFT it was not possible for BJP in unseat the then ruling Govt but after coming in power BJP started insulting IPFT. Mangal Debbarma said, “In last Panchayat Election also same things happened and BJP massively attacked IPFT activists but still the alliance continued but this time also centering Panchayat election same attacks are coming on us and our leader Jibanjoy Reang’s legs were broken by BJP in a brutal attack. At least 15 to 20 IPFT supporters were injured by BJP in last few daysâ€. However, Mangal Debbarma said that the ultimate decision about the alliance will be taken once IPFT top leaders will meet Chief Minister Biplab Deb.Centering the Panchayat election heavy clashes are going on in deep ADC areas.Also, IPFT held a brutal attack at BJP’s newly elected MP Rebati Tripura.
On yesterday, viral footage of violence spread in social media from gandachera, youths with political colours were seen injured and they also carried “lathis”, “da’ saying BJP held an attack on them and also stone pelting took place between two groups.
Huge numbers of security persons were deployed in the area, law and order reportedly left turmoil.State Election Commission has not yet announced the dates for upcoming Panchyat elections but ruling BJP and other parties have conducted primary meeting for the election’s preparation.
Chief Minister Biplab Deb was however out of the state as he went to attend NITI Aayog meeting. After his arrival, IPFT has demanded a meeting between BJP top leaders including Biplab Deb who is also Tripura BJP President and IPFT top leaders.
