AGARTALA, Feb 26 (TIWN): Tripura BJP has Govt agreed by MP Jitendra Chaudhury’s proposal to file the review petition on SC’s verdict on Forest Land Right to save 68000 people from eviction.

However, the verdict against forest land residents came from Supreme Court due to Modi Govt’s report which was totally unjustified for the indigenous people and MP Jitendra Chaudhury said that it would cause a national earthquake if according to SC’s order crores of people are evicted.

CPI-M at the national level will file a review petition on Supreme Court’s verdict on Forest Land eviction which has caused crores of people’s uncertain future.

MP Jitendra Chaudhury in a press meet said, due to Modi Govt’s reluctance to save indigenous people’s land rights it happened.

The MP further said, eviction of people form their homes will cause national-earthquake, asking BJP led State Govt also to file a review-petition in the Supreme Court to save the lives of the forest land residing people.

On Monday, Chief Minister Biplab Deb has announced that State Govt also to file a review petition on that.

Under the UPA Govt era Central Govt on the basis of Left Front and other democratic parties’ protests implemented Forest-Rights-Act-2006, according to which the indigenous people living under nature (forests) for decades after decades accepted as the inheritor of the forest land.

On February 20, Supreme Court has declared verdict on a writ petition filed for Forest Act and Wild Rights.

“The verdict said that 75 years old paper and proof should be placed in land-rights favour, whereas it is not possible for people to show practically in Tripura.Since Kings era, such things were not taken care. SC has asked states to submit action-taken-report which means through forces these people will be outcast”, said MP Jitendra Chaudhury on January 23.

The CPI-M MP also blamed the Modi Govt for convincing SC for the new act against the Forest area’s people.

With verdict tensions have erupted in Tripura as lakhs of people will be affected due to that.
