AGARTALA, Jan 27 (TIWN): Manikya Dynasty Royal Scion Congress leader Pradyot Manikya has called for unity against Citizenship Bill regardless Begalis and Tiprasa, Hindus or Muslims or Christians. Pradyot Manikya had called for a protest rally at the Baijolbari voicing against the Citizenship Bill 2016. Pradyot Manikya pointed out not only the Tiprasa people will face the problem with Citizenship Bill’s implementation but also unemployment problem will increase more. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming on February 9, but he has to understand that his was not elected here by Delhi, rather people of Tripura had elected them. So, BJP has to understand the sentiment of people of Tripura, even though Tripura is a small state. Not only Tripura but various opposition parties including Shiv Sena has opposed it”, he said. Regarding Jirania violence, Pradyout Manikya has slammed both IPFT and BJP for being failed to order for a Judicial investigation. “IPFT is talking about Judicial investigation, BJP is Magisterial investigation. We will wait for a few time and if justice is not done, then in coming days, protests will be in bigger form”.

Except BJP, all the political parties have opposed Citizenship Bill. Earlier, BJP-IPFT Govt had blamed CPI-M and INPT and against indigenous supporting regional parties and student organization INPT and TSF, Tripura Police had registered cases against 500 Tiprasa youths in Ranir Bazar and Jirania police stations, who are members of INPT and TSF in Jirania’s Madhabbari police firing incident. 'Against TSF Secretary Bishu Debbarma, President Upendra Debbarma, leader Sunil Debbarma and around 500 TSF students the case was registered. Case No-4/19 under IPC 148/149 / 333/ 153/ 307/ 436 427 is under investigation', daily newspaper Tripra Darpan reported.

But till now, which police officials were involved in this firing on students, no clarification yet has come in this regard, whereas there are demand from regional parties for suspension of SP West AJit Pratapa Singh who led the whole firing episode without announcement. NESO, IPFT Tipraha calling press conference has condemned the whole episode and almost all pollical parties have condemned the overall incident including looting of shops, setting fire on houses whereas police firing was on the top list of condemnation. There was also a charge additionally imposed National Highway Act & Arms Act 27.

Even after continuous pressure for a ‘Judicial investigation’ in Jirania violence took place on January 8, 2019 the BJP-IPFT Govt has been strict to Magisterial Investigation in that promising in a month the report will come in hand.

Police attacked the ambulance which was carrying critically injured patients led the ambulance to rush from the spot and take shelter in CRPF cam and later under CRPF observation the ambulance got pass from the brutal police. Footage also available how the firing was not done in the air but targeting the innocent people of Madhab Bari. Most injured Sumit Debbarma was not even an agitator but just a local who went to see the ongoing after BJP miscreants burnt shops of the common men and vandalized. No action against police and the BJP led miscreants also raised question on the Home Dept’s role led by Chief Minister Biplab Deb.

However, Pradyot Manikya’s has slammed the “divide & rule” policy of the BJP, urging people not to put in the trap of the party and once election is done all the people have to live together.
